Pittman’s Pocket: 3 HBCU Players Participated in last Saturday’s Caribe Royale Orlando Hula Bowl
Hula Bowl had some of the Top HBCU’s Pro Prospects in this past week’s game located in Orlando, Florida.
Davius Richard from NCCU had a three-for-five day with a solid performance. The NCCU product had a good week of practice leading up to the Hula Bowl. I am confident with the right system and the right coach that can enhance his play-calling abilities and decision making Richard can be a good project prospect. Richard must continue to improve with the HBCU Legacy Bowl as his final opportunity.
Mikey Victor from Alabama State also had a great week and, the 6’3 cornerback held his own. Victor can continue to elevate his game, and will probably will be a steal in the right defensive package like a 3-4 or 4-4 defense. I still feel like teams should try him at safety at the next level, but he will get another opportunity to shine at the East/West Shrine Game. He was called up after a great week in Orlando.
Joshua Heyward from Benedict College was the most productive HBCU Prospect with three tackles and a pass break up. I believe Hayward is raw and with solid coaching and a good scheme, such as the Eagles, Bucs, or Lions, I feel Heyward can turn out to be a polished player over time.
We would like to thank all the supporters throughout the whole year who supported NFL Draft Diamonds and Pittman’s Pocket. We love our HBCUs 💎.
