What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
The more I played and learned about the game the more I fell in love with it. It became a true passion and something that has blessed me with many gifts and opportunities on and off the field.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
Most of Little League football, beating our rival in playoffs senior year, balling out for my family this past homecoming.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
Continue to learn every aspect of the game, maximize my potential and opportunity, and continue to soak up every experience that I can use for when it is time for me to hang up my cleats.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?
Either Randy Moss, Calvin Johnson, or Julio Jones. People who I have tried to model my game after and study their films and highlights to incorporate into my game. I would like to ask them questions to increase my IQ and elevate my game.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
This is a hard question to answer because my family is all hard working but, either my cousin or my parents have inspired me the most. I say my cousin because he has continued to set the example and embody the morals and principles of what a successful man looks like. Same as my father, but I have seen my parents give everything they have and more just to put me into a position of opportunity, I want to do everything I can to give them the peace they deserve and be able to relax.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
I prefer to have an aggressive offense, spread, air raid but also I do want to have a balanced offense as well. The ability to make defenses cover sideline to sideline as well as short and long distances is an elite and beautiful thing because something will always be open.
What should we know about Frank Bentley the person?
Genuine, honest person, who has a passion for African American History. He is someone who works hard, great to be around, and looks to learn something new every day.
What stands out about your film the most?
My versatility, being able to make plays from outside, slot, and tight end when needed.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
I adapt pretty well to changes, I communicate and try to find out the best way to succeed. I am never afraid to ask for help.
What would a team get in a player like you?
A player that is willing to help the team in any way that is needed. A player who puts the team first, with great character, and positive energy, and a leader by example. A player who will give his all and hold himself accountable as much as his teammate and looks to take criticism to get better.
What do you love the most about the game of football?
I love the way football represents life. I think honestly anything in life can be put into a football perspective and vice versa. The game of football teaches you so much that applies to the way of life and gives you the tools to succeed or overcome adversity.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
Honestly, that is a tough question to answer because there have been so many great players that I feel like did not get the flowers nor opportunities they deserved, but if I had to pick I’d say a linebacker from my old school, the University of Indianapolis. He was probably one of the smartest defensive players I’ve played against, his ability to position himself to make plays, and wreck offensives was unbelievable.
