Player Summary:

6th YR RS SR and 1 yr full-time starter at TE where aligns in the slot and inline as an HTE in the zone and gap blocking scheme of MTST. He possesses subpar height and weight with adequate speed and an athletic build. He is an average athlete showing a combination of solid COD with average balance, explosiveness, acceleration, lateral quickness and agility with sufficient top end play speed. He is a solid run blocker overall. He takes a quick first step and uses his good foot drive, sufficient play strength and average UOH in his punch, placement and timing to generate movement at the POA as he seals off EDGE with subpar size and AA. In the passing game, he shows average quickness off the LOS and exhibits above-average FBI as he reads the coverage and finds the soft spot in zone. He shows solid hip fluidity as he breaks off his stem. He tracks the ball well in the air and displays solid hands as he possesses above-average manual dexterity that enables him to possess a catch radius that allows him to make the catch with his hands away from his body. He does a good job of adjusting his body to the ball on passes thrown high and low. He is solid at working his way back to the QB on broken plays. He is average in contested catch situations as he uses his body to shield off DB with subpar speed. He exhibits sufficient mental toughness as he elevates his play in the redzone with good physical toughness when engaged in 1on1 situations as a blocker. Lack of quality play speed prevents him from separating in off-man against DB with good FBI and AA as well as outrunning DB with good acceleration when the catch is made. Ordinary hand placement combined with average play speed enables DB/LB with good AA to evade or disengage from his block at the 2nd level.

Scheme Fit:

HTE due to his solid ability as a blocker and receiver.

Power Statement:

Intelligent, tough player who is solid as a run blocker and as a receiver against zone coverage. Lack of quality play speed limits his YAC.
