Patriots host three players for workouts on Tuesday
Written by Karver Jordan
The New England Patriots worked out three young players who could receive a contract from New England. With Malik Cunningham leaving a move is expected to be made, three open spots on the practice squad: 13/16.
EJ Perry 25 Year Old QB
The former Boston College and Brown University QB EJ Perry has been given a few chances at the pro level with the USFL and the NFL. Perry played in 20 career games and was solid at Brown University, the young signal caller completed 546 completions out of 862 passing attempts for 5,981 yards with 45 touchdowns and 27 interceptions during his Brown University Career. On the ground the QB recorded 253 rushing attempts for 1,132 yards with 15 touchdowns. After his outstanding college career, the 6-foot-2 dual threat would get an NFL chance with the Jacksonville Jaguars but wouldn’t see much time.
Perry would receive some time with the Michigan Panthers of the USFL, his best game was in the playoff vs the Pittsburgh Maulers. The Signal Caller completed 23 of his 38 passes for 370 yards with two touchdowns and only one interception. On the ground the QB ran the ball seven times for 22 yards with a touchdown.
After a short stint with the USFL Perry signed with the Houston Texans during the Preseason. He wouldn’t see much time during the Preseason, now he is looking to get another chance with Patriots after his workout. No news yet on the workout.
