What should the Patriots continue to do moving forward?
Patriots win 21 – 18 over Pittsburgh Steelers, What should the Patriots continue to do moving forward?
Written by Karver Jordan
It has been a good amount of time since we could say the Patriots have won a football game but they have done it. Most fans may ask, Does Not a win ruin their chances at staying in the top 3 picks in the 2024 NFL Draft? It actually doesn’t hurt their chances due to the Strength of Schedule Rule. With that being said New England will still be on the lookout for their next franchise QB. The answer is still unknown even despite the solid QB play from Bailey Zappe.
Offense started off hot but is smothered in second half
Bailey Zappe was on fire during the first half of play but the flame was put out in the second half. Zappe threw three touchdowns in the first half, one going to Ezekiel Elliott and two going to Hunter Henry. The young second year QB would finish the game with 19 completions out of his 28 passing attempts for 240 yards with three touchdowns to only one interception.
Veteran Wide Receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster played extremely good football vs his former team, the wideout recorded four receptions for 90 yards, the wide out finally showed up for New England. Patriot fans were excited to see this sort of numbers from the WR.
Ezekiel Elliott, the veteran running back, recorded 140 total yards and a touchdown.
Patriots Defense continues to play well
New England’s defense has not been the problem for the Patriots over the last few weeks, multiple players stood out in this game defensively. Jabrill Peppers has been phenomenal for the Patriots, the Hard hitting safety recorded an interception off of QB Mitch Trubisky. This defense only allowed 264 total yardage on Thursday Night and has been ballin out these last couple of weeks.
What should New England continue to do moving forward?
The Patriots season has been dreadful and most fans have just given up on this season, so what does that mean moving forward? The Patriots are highly likely to be given a top five pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and that is where they will select their next QB of the future. Bill Belichick if he is here next season will need to build up a good foundation both offensively and defensively for the next young QB. The road back to success begins now.

Karver’s Final Thoughts:
I am one to never root for an L in the win/lose columns, I believe that this team has some young talent who could be great for the long run but some fans have overlooked this fact. It is important that the Patriots keep putting up decent numbers both offensively and defensively, get as much momentum as you can get moving forward.
