Patriots fall 6-0 vs Los Angeles Chargers, what to expect from Patriots in final weeks

The New England Patriots have been dreadful this season. That is just the truth, it is tough to watch the game at times but you must do. New England decided to bench third-year QB Mac Jones for Bailey Zappe, the production didn’t get any better. This Patriots defense is legit due to shutting down Justin Herbert and this Chargers offense. Here are some things you should expect from the Patriots in the final weeks.

Quarterback position is still a question mark:

The New England Patriots struggled to move the ball offensively vs the Chargers, the Pass Rush was dominating the Patriots veteran offensive line. The problems up front led to problems with Bailey Zappe – The Quarterback may have not turned the ball over but he did take a lot of hits and made a few off-the-mark throws. Zappe had some good pocket presence but couldn’t deliver on a few throws leading us to this question: Is it time to start Malik Cunningham? It is worth the shot, let’s see what the Rookie QB has in him.

Patriots Defense is stable:

This New England Defense was great on Sunday vs the Chargers. Bill Belichick’s defense has allowed 26 total points over the last three, those are some good numbers especially when stopping high-powered offensive teams. Holding a team to only six points is outstanding, Patriot fans should be pleased with this.

Karver’s Final Thoughts:

The New England Patriots have a very positive future ahead, the defense is a top-ten defense when fully healthy. The only real question is Who will be the Quarterback next season? That may still be up in the air but it is worth giving rookie QB Malik Cunningham a few looks as the final weeks approach.
