Player Summary:

SR and 3 yr full-time starter on the OL where he aligns at RG in the zone and gap blocking scheme of CAFR. He has also started at LG. He possesses poor height with solid weight and marginal speed with a stocky, powerful build. He is an ordinary athlete showing solid COD and explosiveness with ordinary balance, acceleration, lateral quickness and agility and mediocre play speed. He is a solid run blocker. When asked to pull, he takes very good angles and effectively uses his momentum and leverage to seal off LB, creating a lane for the RB. On OZ, he plays with good leverage and exhibits average UOH in his punch, placement and timing before latching on and generating movement at the POA against 3T with subpar explosiveness. In pass pro, he plays with a good, wide base with average bend and keeps his feet moving while exhibiting sufficient UOH as he delivers a well-timed punch to the frame of IDL with subpar length before using his good play strength to anchor. He exhibits solid reactive athleticism as he exhibits good FBI as he reads the defense and picks up EDGE twisting or crashing through the B gap and can reset his feet as he mirrors IDL with average COD. Above-average mental toughness allows him to elevate his play in the redzone. Struggles to consistently latch on when blocking at the 2nd level allowing LB with good length to shed the block. A lack of quality length allows DT with good length and UOH to win his chest when executing a long-arm technique and walk him back. Ordinary counter ability enables DL with quick hands and solid pass rush move repertoire to disengage. He does a mediocre job of keeping his weight over his toes which causes him to play off-balanced as he lunges. He displays below-average finish ability as he struggles to finish blocks to the ground for a pancake.

Scheme Fit:

OG in gap scheme due to his above-average ability to pull.

Power Statement:

Powerful, intelligent, mentally tough player who is an above-average run blocker and average overall in pass pro. He possesses ordinary athleticism and play speed but compensates for it with his good FBI.
