Player Summary:
6th YR SR and 1 yr full-time starter at RB in the gap and zone blocking scheme of INPU. Converted from WR to RB in ’23. He transferred from IAUN in ’22. He possesses solid height with marginal weight and sufficient speed with a lean, muscular build. He is an average athlete showing a combination of solid COD, lateral quickness and agility, average acceleration with ordinary explosiveness, balance and top end play speed. He shows good vision as he finds the open hole on zone runs and exhibits solid patience as he waits for the block to be set up on power runs. On inside runs, he exhibits average burst through the hole and does a solid job of finishing the run by falling forward for extra yardage. On OZ, he shows solid lateral quickness and agility as he beats DL/LB with subpar AA to the perimeter before turning the corner and picks up a first down. He is very good in pass pro as he shows the willingness to block, locating the blitzing LB before squaring his shoulders. He shows good UOH in his punch, placement and timing combined with sufficient play strength as he impedes the progress of LB with ordinary explosiveness giving the QB extra time to pass the ball. As a receiver in the passing game, he runs mainly swing routes with an occasional seam route. He tracks the ball well in the air and adjusts his body to the underthrown pass. He shows solid hands as he makes the catch with his hands close to his body. He exhibits above-average competitive toughness both physically while in pass pro and mentally as he doesn’t shy away from contact and is reliable on the goal line. He displays ordinary contact balance as he struggles to consistently run behind his pads enabling DB/LB with good explosiveness and leverage to make the tackle. Lack of home run speed limits his playmaking ability as a runner and receiver.
Scheme Fit:
RB in Zone Scheme
Power Statement:
Tough, intelligent player who can be a 3 down back due to his good ability in pass pro and reliability as a receiver. Lack of home run speed limits his ability as a playmaker.
