New England Patriots vs New York Giants Preview

Written by Karver Jordan
The 2-8 New England Patriots are on the road this week to face off against the 3-8 New York Giants. New England is all rested up after the long bye week, the Quarterback position is still the biggest question mark for this team – Will it be Mac Jones, Bailey Zappe, Will Grier, or Malik Cunningham? The Giants and Patriots are in a very similar situation, both losing teams. We will see who wins this weekend. Let’s take a look at two things the Patriots must do if they want to win this game.
Pressure Tommy Devito
The New England Patriots are going to need to pressure the rookie QB who is coming off a good performance vs the Washington Commanders. Devito completed 18 of his 26 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns, the Giants QB was dealing in the 31 – 19 victory.
New England will also need to stop Saquan Barkley; the running back had 14 rushing attempts for 83 yards as well as four receptions for 57 yards and two touchdowns. Stopping Barkley out of the backfield should be another thing Patriot fans should watch.
Time for change at Quarterback
Mac Jones and the Patriots have been on page since Jones’s rookie season. The struggling QB has 2,031 yards with ten touchdowns and ten interceptions, it is time for a change at QB.
Bailey Zappe has proven he isn’t the clear answer to the QB problems. Zappe is young and developing, you can not give up on him quite yet he is still learning.
The last two options New England could try is veteran QB Will Grier and Rookie QB Malik Cunningham, both quarterbacks haven’t gotten the chance quite yet. We could see both of the players get a shot real soon.

Karver’s Final Thoughts:
The Patriots have had a good amount of time to prepare for the Giants, the defense should be able to stop UDFA Rookie QB Tommy Devito and Barkley. New England’s offense should be different this weekend, a change at the Quarterback position is real soon. Happy Thanksgiving weekend, enjoy this time with your family and Go Patriots!
