New England Patriots fall short in Germany to Indianapolis Colts
Written by Karver Jordan
The New England Patriots disappointed a lot of fans in Germany on Sunday. The Patriots were defeated 10 to 6 against the Indianapolis Colts. It was a good game defensively for the Patriots however, the Patriots Offense struggled. Here are a few notes from the game on Sunday.
Patriots Offense shows little to no life
If it wasn’t for Demario Douglas, Rhamondre Stevenson, and Ezekiel Elliott this team would have most likely never scored the two field goals. Rhamondre Stevenson the young running back recorded 20 carries for 88 yards with a 4.4 yards per carry average. Ezekiel Elliott had some good runs he had 13 carries for 54 yards, Elliott also recorded two receptions for 34 yards.
Mac Jones was Dreadful vs the Colts defense, the quarterback completed 15 of his 20 passes for 170 yards and an horrendous interception. The Stat numbers may appear average but the play on field was just terrible. Multiple plays that should have been picked off, Not a good day from the Struggling QB. New England should be looking for a Quarterback either in Free Agency or the Draft. Mac Jones was Benched for Bailey Zappe in the Fourth Quarter.
Demario “Pop” Douglas the Rookie Wide receiver had himself a day, Six receptions for 84 yards. New England found a hidden gem.
Patriots Defense Stands strong
The Patriots defense played a phenomenal game when it mattered the most, holding a team who averaged 20 points a game to ten is promising. Shaun Wade, Jonathan Jones, Jalen Mills, Myles Bryant, and Jack Jones all held up nicely vs the Colts WR core. The Safety group is by far one of the best in the league, Jabrill Peppers and Kyle Dugger have truly stepped up this season.
Myles Bryant got an interception off a Jahlani Tavai tipped pass
The Patriots front seven did a great job stopping the Colts heavy rushing attack led by Jonathan Taylor, the Patriots only held Taylor to 69 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. The Patriots didn’t do a great job on creating pressure, something they need to work on moving forward.
What is next in New England?
The Patriots are most likely going to draft a quarterback, Mac Jones is no longer looking like the Future of New England.
Is Bill Belichick’s time in New England ending?
Robert Kraft has too much respect for Belichick for him to get fired during the season, a separation will be most likely after the season has concluded.

Karver’s Final Thoughts:
It is very unfortunate that the Patriots season has gone this way, No one could have predicted it to be this bad. The Patriots are in a spot most young Patriot fans have never seen before. All I can say is that New England has a bright future, loads of young talented players on this team.
