Player Summary:
6th YR RS SR and 4 yr full-time starter at OL where he aligns at OC in the zone blocking scheme of ORST. He possesses good height, poor weight with adequate speed, solid length and an athletic build. He is a solid athlete showing a combination of good acceleration, solid explosiveness, COD, lateral quickness and agility with subpar balance and solid play speed. He does a very good job of communicating with his teammates as he exhibits quality FBI as he reads the defense. He is a solid run blocker. On OZ, he is quick out of his stance at a solid pad level. He latches on showing average UOH in his punch, placement and timing before generating movement at the POA with his good foot drive and leverage against IDL with ordinary size and physical toughness. He is sufficient when reaching to the 2nd level. He shows solid play speed and takes good angles before using his solid explosiveness to overpower ILB with subpar UOH and AA. In pass pro, he plays with a good, wide base and keeps his feet moving while showing average flexibility. He exhibits decent UOH as he wins battles with his hands inside against ILB and NT with subpar length. Average reactive athleticism as he picks up EDGE with adequate lateral quickness and agility twisting towards the A gap. If left uncovered, he does a solid job assisting OG with their assignment. Good mental toughness enables him to elevate his play in the 4th qtr. Subpar balance prevents him from keeping his weight over his toes consistently which causes him to lunge and end up on the ground. Ordinary anchor ability due to poor weight and lack of quality grip strength which enables NT with good size and play strength to overpower him at the POA. He exhibits adequate finish ability as he struggles to finish blocks to the ground against DL with average physical toughness.
Scheme Fit:
OC in zone scheme.
Power Statement:
Athletic, experienced, intelligent, mentally tough player who is solid as a run and pass blocker. Subpar balance and poor weight prevent him from overpowering IDL with quality size and play strength.
