Transferred from McNeese, Marshall, 5-year starter who has played in 55 career games and has 50 starts under his belt. Displays solid play speed, has good range coming from deep secondary to assist in run support. Has good use of hands at point of attack, continues to move feet, gain leverage, coupled with violent hand striking to break free from blocks. Has good ability gaining depth, uses good hip fluidity during change of direction vs shifty runner in open field. Has good play recognition, keeps eyes on the flow of the pocket while staying behind the deepest runner while showcasing ability to flips hips well enough to stay ahead of play. Not afraid to put a helmet into traffic to assist in containing runners at second level. Does not wrap up runner well, does not come to balance, sink hips, and get square with runner at point of impact to make tackle. Does not do well vs shifty downhill runners in space, gets caught lunging due to taking eyes off target. Does not do well on goal line, redzone situations vs blocking Tight ends, gets overpowered, pushed out of position with little impact on play.
