Player Summary:
Versatile TE who has the ability to align inline, in the slot or as an outside WR to create mismatches against smaller defenders. During his 4 year career at ARUN, he primarily aligned as an outside WR but was listed as a TE. He transferred to SCUN as a graduate transfer. Possesses great height and average weight to compete at the next level. Solid body frame to use to his advantage when making contested catches. Good AA. Has good speed for his size to create separation and run away from defenders. Average COD skills to make cuts. Has the awareness skills to find holes in defenses’ zones and sit in the open window to become a target for the QB. Above-average route runner. He ran a limited route tree while attending ARUN. Most of his routes were deep down the field developing routes. Great habit of catching the ball with his hands instead of body. Good at tracking the ball in the air and making contested catches. Average YAC runner. As a run blocker he is above average. He is able to gain leverage on defensive backs and wall them off so the ball carrier can get through. Does not have much experience blocking inline, but shows the ability to handle his own against bigger defenders.
Scheme Fit:
Spread TE
Power Statement:
Knox has a high ceiling due to his versatility to line up as WR and TE to create mismatches against the defense. He does not have much experience blocking inline but has shown the ability to hold his own in the trenches. The knock on Knox will be low production numbers, but on film you will see the potential when he gets in an offense that best suits him. With this being his last year, Knox will need to produce at a high rate at SCUN in order to improve his draft stock.
