Player Summary:
RSSR 3 year starting CB at ALTR who will fly around the field with a feisty play style. Top rated Corner in the Sun-Belt conference in 2022 by PFF. Stands with solid height and adequate weight. Very thin build, without much mass, portraying a long lanky frame with long legs and long arms for his height. Good AA obtaining good speed, burst/explosiveness, COD, range, fluidity. Primarily plays in Off coverage due to his smaller frame and adequate strength at the LOS. Good in Zone Coverage as he displays good mental processing of offensive schemes and QB reads, identifying routes developing and showing good instincts and burst, COD, and feet to close quickly to the catch point. Good instincts allow him to have a good feel for passing WRs to stay within throwing windows. Good range and fluidity allow him to change direction quickly and relocate oncoming WRs. Solid in Off-Man Coverage due to quick feet and fluidity coming out of his pedal, with good speed and burst to run with WRs. Aggressive nature causes him to bite on in-breaking cuts as he’ll jump at WR moves. Adequate in Press-Man Coverage as he displays adequate strength and hands to Jam WRs at the LOS and reroute them, as they will gain a first step on him. Solid tackler as he plays with very good competitive toughness showing relentlessness with his body. Can only make tackles by throwing his body into the ground at their ankles. Don’t expect him to bring down much heavier ball carriers. Poor block shedding ability, as he displays adequate UOH, and strength to shed blocks on the outside, letting up WR screen yardage on the outside. Good competitive toughness and a high motor keep him flying around into bigger opponents.
Scheme Fit:
Field corner in a nickel defense
Power Statement:
Slender corner in a nickel defense who plays very well in Zone Coverage due to his good burst and instincts, who will fly around with a high motor and put his body on the line.
