Police arrest NSU Demons football player in connection with his teammate’s murder

Detectives with the Natchitoches Police Department have arrested a second person in connection with the murder of Ronnie Caldwell.

The wild thing is it was Caldwell’s former teammate Maurice Campbell II.

Campbell, 22 from Memphis was arrested in connection to the slaying of his teammate, according to Natchitoches Police.

Campbell was arrested for obstruction of justice, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Campbell was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center. He and Caldwell were both members of the Demons football team. He was not the first person arrested, as we reported before, John McIntosh the 27-year-old of Natchitoches was arrested on October 12.
