Player Summary:

4th yr JR and 4 yr full-time starter at RB in the zone/gap blocking scheme of ALTR. He lines up at QB in wildcat formation as well. He possesses poor height, solid weight and marginal speed with a compact build. He is a solid athlete showing a combination of solid COD, explosiveness, acceleration, lateral quickness and agility with ordinary balance and solid top end play speed. He displays sufficient vision on zone runs as he finds the open hole with solid patience as he waits for the block to be set up on power runs. He shows solid burst through the hole and accelerates to top speed quickly in the secondary as he picks up chunk yardage outrunning LB and DL with average AA. He exhibits solid lateral quickness and agility as he bounces runs to the outside outrunning DL with ordinary play speed as he turns the corner while breaking tackles from DB/LB who play with poor leverage and picks up a first down. He does a good job of finishing the run by falling forward for extra yardage. He is above-average in pass pro as he shows the willingness to block, locates the blitzing LB, and uses his solid UOH winning battles with his hands inside combined with good play strength and physical toughness to impede the progress of LB with adequate acceleration. He exhibits good mental toughness as he doesn’t shy away from contact against LB/DL with good size. Only caught 1 pass in the games watched but showed decent acceleration after the catch. He displays ordinary contact balance as he struggles to consistently run behind his pads and keep his feet if tackled by LB with good form tackling ability and explosiveness. As a receiver, he shows mediocre hands as he allows the ball to come into his body as he makes the catch due to a lack of a quality catch radius. If the hole is clogged, he dances around in the backfield leading to a loss of yardage.

Scheme Fit:

RB in zone scheme.

Power Statement:

Tough player who runs well and is above-average in pass pro. Lacks quality hands and contact balance which prevents him from maximizing his potential at RB.
