Player Summary:

Senior. Transfer from Alabama. Starts at CB.  Tall sip of water – looks very thin (confirmed with an in-person eval), but has really long arms and excellent height for the position. On the field, he looks like a Day Two draft pick. In coverage, he is very good. Can play press, jam, use his hands, has a nice first punch and is very feisty with receivers. Very physical in coverage. Can stay in phase, long-arm technique receivers downfield on vertical routes, and cover and carry deep. Displayed ability to whip his head around and play the ball. Very disruptive and physical with timing the ball and breaking up passes. Stays close to receivers when covering over the MOF. Love his physicality and competitiveness. Will overextend at the LOS occasionally when launching his hands, causing him to get beat on the first step, but displays good recovery speed. As a run defender he is marginal.  Has very good closing speed and flashes good instincts and read/reaction time. Gets easily blocked and gets taken for a ride by receivers because of his slight frame. Takes poor angles to the backfield and needs to play under control.  Has a chance to be a really good football player with the right coach.

Scheme Fit:

CB

Power Statement:

Khyree has strong coverage skills, a nose for the ball, and excellent height and arm length for the position.  If he learns to play under control and develop as a run defender and add bulk to his frame, he could be a top prospect.
