Patriots trade late round pick for cornerback JC Jackson, Injury updates, and more
Written by Karver Jordan
This morning we got some really good news regarding the New England Patriots but on the other hand, we received some really bad news on Rookie Defensive Back Christian Gonzalez. Here are some moves the Patriots made over the last few days.
Christian Gonzalez
The young rookie Defensive Back is expected to miss the REST of the 2023-24 NFL Season due to needing surgery for his torn labrum. This is a big loss for New England’s secondary, Gonzalez had a serious chance at winning Defensive Rookie Of The Year.
Patriots release Punter Corliss Waitman
The New England Patriots have released veteran punter Corliss Waitman from the Practice Squad. This move was expected.
Patriots sign defensive Trysten Hill to practice squad
The New England Patriots have signed former second round draft pick Trysten Hill, the young defensive tackle is headed to the practice squad. Hill is 6-foot-3 308 pounds and 25 years old, over the course of his young career he has recorded 39 total tackles and 1.5 sacks. Overall a pretty good signing, I like the move.
Patriots trade late round pick to Chargers for JC Jackson
The New England Patriots have traded a sixth round draft pick for former Patriot JC Jackson and a seventh round draft pick. This move is HUGE for the Patriots secondary, Jackson has struggled for the LA Chargers but New England helped JC Jackson find his full potential a few years back. This is a very good trade for both parties, expect the 27 year old DB to go back to full potential in New England.
Karvers Final Thoughts:
The New England Patriots have made some moves over the past couple of days. JC Jackson is finally home, that is a huge move. Losing Christian Gonzalez sucks, but it will all be okay because of this trade. New England looks to prepare for the New Orlean Saints.
