Player Summary:
5th YR GR and rotational starter at LB where he plays as a Rover and at ILB primarily as a Will across multiple fronts for INND. He possesses solid height, poor weight with good speed, and a muscular build. He is a good athlete showing a combination of above-average explosiveness, good balance, COD, acceleration, lateral quickness, and agility with good top-end play speed. He is good against the run overall. He displays solid FBI as he reads run/pass and exhibits solid UOH in his punch, placement, and timing combined with very good play strength as he disengages from OG and TE with subpar physical toughness. He displays above-average play speed, range, and instincts in pursuit. He plays with good leverage and exhibits very good explosiveness as he makes the tackle on RB with average size and AA on both inside and outside runs. He is solid against the pass. In the zone, he shows fluid hips and solid awareness as he drops back in coverage and effectively defends the curl zone while reading the QB and keeping receivers in his periphery. He exhibits solid open-field tackling ability due to his above-average explosiveness as he defends the underneath routes. In man coverage, he displays good ability to carry slot WR and TE with ordinary acceleration up the seam and RB with average play speed in the flat. He plays with a very good motor as he constantly plays until the whistle. He exhibits solid competitive toughness both physically at the POA when engaged in 1-on-1 battles and mentally as he improves his play in the 4th qtr. He is an ordinary pass rusher as he struggles to penetrate the LOS when engaged with OL with good length and grip strength, stalemating his progress at the LOS. He did not have many opportunities to show his ball skills in the games watched.
Scheme Fit:
Will in 4-3
Power Statement:
Explosive, athletic player who excels against the run and is good in coverage. Struggles to penetrate the LOS when facing OL with good grip strength.
