Pittman’s Pocket: Howard football players looked like NFL talent when facing Northwestern

This weekend Howard faced Northwestern, and many did not feel Howard had a chance, but the players came prepared and were NFL-ready.
I witnessed this past weekend a significant amount of Howard players looking NFL-ready, and I was thoroughly impressed. Let’s talk about some of the players that had a good game.
Senior defensive back Ray Williams had a great game, racking up 8 tackles, 7 solo, and one assistant.
Carson Hinton was really putting in some work for Howard this past weekend against Northwestern University. Hinton’s play stood out significantly against the Wildcats with eight tackles, 6 solo, 2 assists, 2 tackles for a loss, and a sack. For a defensive back, this is a great performance!
Literally, Howard had four defensive players with four solo solid sacks not from their front 4.
Kenny Gallop continues to prove himself and set himself apart from other HBCU talent with 5 tackles, 4 solo, one assist, and a sack.
Eden James had a monster day against Northwestern which plays in the Big Ten. He ran all over the Wildcats rushing 21 times for 177 yards, averaging 8.4 yards per carry, and scoring 1 touchdown. He had a long run for a 64-yard touchdown.
James is only a true Sophomore who literally took the top off the Wildcats even in the passing game with 3 receptions for 36 yards.
