UNC-Charlotte football player Chavion Smith was stabbed to death in Atlanta
According to reports, Chavion Smith a star running back formerly of Statesville High School was murdered in Atlanta this week.
The 20-year-old was stabbed and died in Atlanta on Wednesday.
Smith was found at approximately 10:50 p.m. in East Atlanta by police, he was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Smith was a star running back at Statesville High School before signing to play with UNC Charlotte after graduation.
Chavion was stabbed several times and he had lacerations on his face and on his torso.
Chavion had many schools interested in him, but ultimately chose to play at UNC-Charlotte.
