An 11-year-old was arrested for shooting two 13-year-old football players in Florida
A Pop Warner football practice ended horribly when an 11-year-old football player grabbed a gun from his mother’s car and shot two fellow players on Monday.
This happened in Apopka, Florida outside the recreation complex. A fight had broken out between the kids at a Pop Warner practice.
One teenager was treated at a hospital and released, and the other still was being treated on Tuesday. One had a wound to an arm, and the other to the torso.
The shooter took the gun from his mother’s car where it was stored in an unlocked box. The child then fired a shot that hit both teens.
Police booked the 11-year-old into a juvenile assessment center on a preliminary charge of second-degree attempted murder.
Authorities are looking into whether adults will be charged. Video shows the teens were running when the gun was fired.
