West Virginia standout High School football player was killed in a single vehicle crash

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department announced that a 16-year-old boy was on his way to school at about 7 a.m. when his car went off state Route 41 near Russellville and hit a power pole. We now know more about the crash.
According to the report, that 16-year-old was Midland Trail High School football player Damon Mooney. Mooney was killed in a single vehicle crash on September 12.
According to a Facebook post by the Midland Trail Football team, wrote that the player involved in the accident was Damon Mooney who was number 66 for the Patriots.
“As most of the community is aware, we tragically lost one of our own players, Damon Mooney. Make no mistake about it, we are a family and this one of our kids. We do not go a day without telling our kids we love them, and we mean it. Please pray for everyone’s comfort and healing during this time as we cope with the loss of #66 Damon Mooney.”
