Reports that Ex-Syracuse star wide receiver Mike Williams had died are premature | He is currently on life support in hospital
Yesterday, it was reported by Spectrum News in Buffalo that former Syracuse wide receiver Mike Williams had passed away after getting hit in the head with a steel beam while working in construction.
Well, news has since come out from the Tampa Bay Times that the former Bucs and Bills wide receiver is not dead and he is currently on life support.
A report said Williams had died as a result of his injuries, but the family is weighing options.
Former Bucs receiver Mike Williams is on life support in ICU at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, due to injuries sustained in a construction accident last week.
His agent Hadley Englehard has told us at NFL Draft Diamonds that as of 4pm he is still in the hospital fighting for his life.
Additionally, the family would like the GoFundMe that was created removed and taken down.
Williams was a fourth round pick out of Syracuse in 2010 and played for the Buccaneers, Bills and Chiefs. He was up for NFL Pepsi Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2010 after he posted 964 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Williams played only four seasons with Tampa Bay before being traded to his hometown Buffalo Bills in 2014. He finished his career spending part of 2016 with the Chiefs in the offseason.
