Player Summary:
A redshirt senior who has been a starter for three (3) years at SMU (31 of 33 games), including 11 of 13 games last season at RG. Osborne is an OL with very good height, weight, and an athletic build that could add additional muscle. Solid initial quickness on zone schemes and gap schemes allow him to gain leverage on the defender immediately. A very patient blocker with an adequate explosion at the POA. Aggressive at the finish and a competitor in every way. Adequate foot speed and acceleration allow him to get to the second level to secure a block on the LB and get out in open space in the screen game. Osborne displays high FBI in pass protection, passing of twist, identifying blitzes, and picking up an extra unblocked defender. Very smooth in his pass sets, and shows a variety of sets to address bull rushers and speed rushers. Very active feet with active hands in the passing game. Adequate anchor to bridge against bull rushers.
Scheme Fit:
Zone, Gap, and Man Schemes
Power Statement:
A 3-year starter with great height and weight and a great technician in the run and passing game. Very smooth setter in the passing game, aggressive in the run game, with good footspeed and short-range quickness to be an asset in any offensive scheme.
