Player Summary:
Redshirt senior from Lakeland, Florida. Domineck originally signed to play at Georgia Tech as a 3 star recruit, he spent 2018-2021 there before his stint at Arkansas, and then transferring to the University of Colorado. Marginal height, solid weight, with good arm length and AA. Good initial quickness paired with solid lateral quickness, ankle flexion, effective bend, and adequate COD. Plays efficient out of 2 and 3 point stances with solid pad level, he creates a vertical element early for the OT with a solid get off. Plays with an adequate pass rush plan, displays a variety of rushes primarily using above-average bend in a speed rush to get around the edge or a spin move towards the B gap. Good understanding of how he can use his length as a rusher, stabbing the chest plate with his inside hand and guiding himself past the OT with good leverage and acceleration. Decent spin move when he is patient, selling the potential for a speed rush on the edge. Solid crashing in the twist game, he physically occupies multiple OL for the looper and could improve by taking a tighter path. Displays excellent competitive toughness by bouncing back quickly from mistakes and making big plays in important moments down the stretch. Average as a run defender, processes gap scheme well and limits the success of these plays by accelerating into oncoming pullers, knocking them off their path. Plays with good effort and pursuit from the backside taking fair angles in the open field. Marginal setting edge, consistently being late reading run/pass leads to him working vertically and opening up the B gap for the ball carrier.
Scheme Fit:
Wide 9 in 1 gap 3-4
Power Statement:
Domineck has the tools to be an effective pass rusher with impressive speed off the ball, length in his stab and bend around the edge. He shows multiple looks as a rusher, fine tuning his secondary moves and improving his discipline in run support would have him rise across big boards.
