Pittman’s Pocket: FAMU Rattlers just flat out dominated the Jackson State Tigers
FAMU Rattlers just flat out dominated the Jackson State Tigers
FAMU football got off to a hot start, with the opening kick off, which was returned by Star Wideout Marcus Riley #4 for 96 yards.
Next drive Jeremy Moussa #8 found Trevontae Davis for a 18 yard touchdown. JSU just had a hard time with the Rattlers offense. On the next drive, Moussa passed another Touchdown to #10 Jah’Marae Sheread.
Jason Brown started off pretty good for Jackson State until them Rattlers started biting on that Defensive Line. Brown got hurt in the first half, finishing 10/19 for 82 yards. Irv Mulligan rushed 16 times for 77 yards. The Tigers only production came in the second half is when Zay McDonald #6 QB came in passing 10/14 for 149 yards plus 8 rushing attempts for 30 yards and a touchdown. Rico Powers #1 also finished with 4 receptions for 119 yards.
JSU defense just did not show up, but FAMU defense pressured The Tigers into a total of 4 sacks. It was an Impressive debut for a newly designed FAMU defense. With all the transfers, they have enough potential to compete in the SWAC.
FAMU running backs did well thanks to the aggressiveness of offense line, which looks pretty good leading the offense with over 200 yards rushing today from all 3 backs, Jennings #23, Yant #1, and Dean #9.
Overall Congrats to Coach Simmons and his Staff in defeating Jackson State at The Orange 🍊 Blossom 🌼🌸 Classic down in Miami, FL. FAMU 28- JSU 10.
