Player Summary:

6th YR RS SR and 4 yr full-time starter on the OL where he aligns at RT in the zone and gap blocking scheme of TXUN. He has started at LT as well. He possesses adequate height with good weight, below-average speed and quality length with huge hands and a powerful build. He is an average athlete showing a combination of solid COD and explosiveness, average balance, acceleration, lateral quickness and agility with average play speed. He is a good run blocker. On OZ, he takes a quick step laterally before latching on and generates movement at the POA with his good play strength and foot drive against 3T and EDGE with average size and getoff. On base blocks, he uses his above-average play strength and solid physical toughness to drive 3T with ordinary AA off the ball creating a lane for the RB. He displays good physical toughness as he finishes the block to the ground against DL with subpar play strength. He is solid overall in pass pro. He plays with a good, wide base with average bend while keeping his feet moving. He effectively uses his good play strength to anchor against the power rush from EDGE with ordinary explosiveness. He displays above-average reactive athleticism as he displays good FBI as he reads the defense and can pick up stunts and twists from IDL with average lateral quickness and agility. He displays very good mental toughness as he elevates his play as a run blocker in the redzone. He displays ordinary UOH in his punch, placement and timing as he struggles to win battles with his hands inside consistently leaving his chest exposed to long-arm technique from EDGE with good UOH and length. Adequate counter ability as he struggles to consistently maintain his block against DL with good physical toughness and quick, active hands. He is ordinary when blocking at the 2nd level as his lack of quality play speed and UOH enable LB with good AA to shed or avoid his block. Lack of quality AA enables twitchy EDGE with very good explosiveness to release inside.

Scheme Fit:

OT/OG in zone scheme with heavy OZ due to his good ability to generate movement at the POA against 3T and EDGE when reach blocking.

Power Statement:

Powerful, lengthy, experienced player who is good as a run blocker and solid in pass pro. Strong at the POA and very tough especially in the redzone. Needs to be more consistent with his hands and his lack of quality play speed and AA limit his productivity at the 2nd level.
