Chargers head coach has a heated exchange with reporters after asked about historic playoff meltdown
Brandon Staley the Chargers head coach is 0-2 right now in the NFL, and he has a very good team on paper. When you look at all the talent on his roster it is very hard to see how they are losing. The first two games of the season this year have been tough battles, but when a reporter brought up the playoff loss to the Jaguars last year, Staley was not having it.
Staley tore up the reporter in a heated exchange.
If you remember correctly the Chargers were up 27-0 against the Jaguars, and Trevor Lawrence had thrown four interceptions. In the second half Lawrence led the third-largest comeback in NFL history to lead his win to a 31-30 win over the Chargers.
So Coach Brandon Staley said this to the reporter:
“I’m not worried about the Jacksonville loss. The Jacksonville loss hasn’t carried on to this season whatsoever. If you’ve seen our training camp, if you’ve seen the way we’ve played the first two games, it hasn’t had an impact on our team whatsoever.”
“Our team is connected. Our team has played its heart out in two games, and we’ve lost two tough games; but it has nothing to do with the Jacksonville game.”
It sounds like Staley is trying to move on, but is the past haunting him?
