Player Summary:
Senior. Thick upper and lower body bulk with good size and arm length. Very athletic EDGE prospect who is a great pass rusher and good run defender. As a pass rusher, he is very good. Has an improved first step from a year ago – is more quick and explosive off the snap. Has developed multiple moves, including a good spin move and strong speed rush. Has some edge speed and is tough to block off the corner. Plays with good bend/leverage when bull rushing and has strong hand leverage. Can aggressively take on double-team blocks in both phases of the game to free up other defenders. Can get his hands up and bat down passes. Gets neutralized a little too much and would like to see him attack ½ man better on approach. As a run defender, he is good. Has outstanding instincts and flows to the ball. Can defend the flat and shows great lateral movement skills, staying parallel to the LOS and wrapping up ballcarriers. Shows above-average ability to shed blocks and set an edge. Good pursuit, chases down ballcarriers, and displays a high motor. Keeps active feet and hands. Had a missed tackle in one of the games viewed but not enough to knock his overall evaluation. Very tough player to block. Strong effort.
Scheme Fit:
EDGE.
Power Statement:
Brennan is a legitimate prospect who has made tremendous strides since last season. He is a good run defender and pass rusher, and has developed a quicker first step than he had in 2022. With his size and athleticism his potential is through the roof.
