Player Summary:
5th year senior. Starts at QB. Strong pocket passer with a good arm, strong accuracy and ability to run and make some gains with his legs. As a passer he is good. Has clean footwork and steps into his throw. Is very accurate, hitting receivers in stride. Displays good velocity in the short/intermediate game. Accurate and good velocity over the MOF. Can fit the ball into tight windows especially around the goal line. Has a very strong arm – offense likes to use hash-to-opposite sideline throws and he consistently gets the ball there on-time. Flashed good touch over the top on the deep ball, and has shown he can drop it into the bucket and keep receivers moving downfield. Scans the field well, looks cerebral. Is very effective on the run with good weight transition into his pass and throwing an on-time, accurate ball. Is not a dual-threat who can go the distance or make plays with his legs, but can run on options/draws and pick up positive yardage. Needs to do a better job of protecting the ball – had two fumbles in the games viewed. Holds the ball a little low which creates a bit of a windup in his release, could be better if he held the ball a little higher. Is very good with a clean pocket, but has thrown into double coverage under duress. Very productive.
