Player Summary:

RS SR and 3 yr full-time starter on the OL where he aligned at LG in the gap and zone blocking scheme of INPU. Transferred to CALA prior to the 2023 season. He possesses solid height, ordinary weight and average speed with a powerful build. He is an average athlete showing a combination of solid COD, lateral quickness and agility with average explosiveness and acceleration with adequate balance and average play speed. He is a solid run blocker. When pulling, he uses his solid lateral quickness and agility to get to the perimeter. He takes good angles on trap runs before using his good play strength and solid UOH in his punch, placement and timing to seal off EDGE with adequate size creating a lane for the RB. On zone blocks, he takes a quick first step before latching on and generates movement at the POA with his good foot drive against IDL with subpar speed. He is good in pass pro. He does a good job of keeping his feet moving while playing with average bend. He displays solid UOH as he delivers a well-timed punch to the frame of DT with ordinary length and physical toughness before anchoring. He displays good reactive athleticism as he uses his quality FBI to read the defense before picking up stunts from IDL with average lateral quickness and agility twisting towards the B gap. He also does a solid job of picking up the blitzing LB with average acceleration. He displays above-average physical toughness as he finishes the block to the ground for a pancake against DL/LB with adequate size. He is ordinary when reaching to the 2nd level due to his lack of quality play speed allowing LB with good AA to evade his block or quickly disengage. He possesses adequate counter ability as he struggles to consistently maintain his block against IDL with quick hands and good pass rush move repertoire. He struggles to consistently keep his weight over his toes which leads to him losing his balance.

Scheme Fit:

OG in gap/outside zone scheme due to his good ability to pull and solid ability to generate movement on zone blocks.

Power Statement:

Intelligent, tough, experienced player who is solid as a run blocker and is good in pass pro overall. Lack of quality play speed limits his ability when blocking at the 2nd level. Adequate balance prevents him from keeping his weight over his toes consistently.
