The New England Patriots have signed rookie offensive tackle/offensive guard Micah Vanterpool after a successful workout. Here is a little breakdown about the New Patriot.
Learn a little more about Micah Vanterpool:
College: Hawaii
Height and Weight: 6-Foot-6 315 pounds
College Career:
Throughout the five year career at college Micah played all over the offensive line. Vanterpool played Left/Right tackle and Left/Right Guard throughout the years. This previous season Vanterpool would play 13 games at the right guard position, He did not allow a single sack and had no penalties. The 6-foot-6 Guard would earn All-Mountain West second team honors.
Senior season video breakdown:
- Good in Pass Pro
- Good at working from Defensive Tackle (First Level) to Linebacker(s) (Second Level) in run game.
- Very quick feet/Good at pulling
- Multiple Pancake blocks
Professional Career:
The great Offensive Lineman from Hawaii went undrafted out of college however, The New Jersey Generals picked Vanterpool shortly after. The Hawaii prospect wouldn’t play in any games for the Generals, once the USFL Season concluded the New England Patriots had the gifted offensive lineman in for a workout and it went smoothly. New England would later sign the OT/OG. Micah Vanterpool will now get his opportunity in the NFL to show what he has.
Karver’s Thoughts:
After the news broke that Micah Vanterpool worked out with the Patriots I instantly did my research on the Hawaii prospect. I like his play style and his ability to play almost anywhere on the whole offensive line. I think the OT/OG is going to be a solid addition to this Patriots offensive line. The Patriots have found a hidden gem from yet another USFL team.
