Three Iowa football players implicated in gambling investigation | Iowa Kicker bet on ISU/Iowa Game
We already heard that Iowa State quarterback Hunter Dekkers was implicated in a gambling investigation, but he was not the only Iowa football player busted for gambling.
According to a new report, both Iowa Kicker Aaron Blom and Iowa State offensive lineman Dodge Sauser were both charged with “tampering with records” in relation to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation’s ongoing probe.
The investigation is the same one that hit former Iowa State football player Enyi Uwazurike of the Denver Broncos. That is why he was suspended for the NFL‘s gambling policy in July.
A list of seven athletes came out, but only the three current players and Uwazurike were the ones involved from the football side.
Blom allegedly placed around 170 underage sports wagers for more than $4,400, according to documents obtained by The Gazette. One of the incidents was an “under total points” wager on Iowa’s 2021 rivalry game victory against Iowa State.
Sauser, who has not appeared a game for the Cyclones, was also cited as allegedly placing 12 wagers on Iowa State football games through a DraftKings account.
