Pittman’s Pocket: HBCU prospects making plays in the first week of NFL preseason games
NFL teams only selected one player in the 2023 NFL Draft from an HBCU school, but the HBCU prospects are making plays in the preseason. The only player drafted was Isaiah Bolden from Jackson State and he had a pretty solid showing in his first game.
Isaiah Bolden did show good flashes in his First NFL preseason game with 2 tackles and a 26-yard kick return.
Aubrey Miller another former Jackson State player has been showing great expectations with the Miami Dolphins with a solid performance racking up 2 tackles.
Two JSU players were playing in an NFL game for the first time in years.
Former Alabama A&M Wideout Houston Transfer Nathaniel Tank Dell had a phenomenal game with the Houston Texans hauling in 6 receptions for 65 yards, and 1 Touchdown. I believe you guys will see Dell being more involved with the Texans offense the more he picks up the playbook.
Keenan Isaac out of Alabama State had a decent night for the Tampa Bay Bucs with 2 solo tackles and solid coverage.
The main player from the HBCU community that stood out this first week of the preseason was Emmanuel Wilson from Fort Valley State. He rushed 6 times for 111 yards, and 2 touchdowns for the Green Bay Packers, helping them defeat the Bengals.
