Patriots sign USFL Champion RB CJ Marable

The New England Patriots have signed two-time USFL Champion and Former Coastal Carolina running back CJ Marable.  The back is outstanding at receiving and has the ability to juke people out of their cleats. Let’s take a look at his journey to New England. 

Learn a little more about CJ Marable:

Age: 26

Height and Weight: 5-foot-10 inches 194 pounds

College: Coastal Carolina 

College Career: 

The kid was incredible at Coastal Carolina either catching the ball out of the back field or just taking peoples ankles while running the ball, Marable can do it all! Let’s take a look at some stats from the Five foot, ten inch back. Marable would play in 36 games and recorded 491 rushing attempts for 2,691 yards while adding 29 touchdowns. The shifty back would average 5.5 yards a carry, outstanding. CJ Marable is an outstanding player out of the backfield like mentioned before, the back would record 84 career receptions for 703 yards with 12 touchdowns; Coastal Carolina helped this kid prove to the world how unique he truly is.

-Ball Carrier Vision is incredible/Sees daylight and hits 2nd gear

-Good at Pass Pro 

-Good route running ability either from back field/ out wide as a receiver 

Professional Career: 

CJ Marable would get drafted by the Birmingham Stallions with 28th overall pick of the USFL draft back in 2022. What an accomplishment for the young RB, Marable would SHINE in his first season with Birmingham. 102 rushing attempts for 402 yards with five touchdowns, Marable would put the USFL on notice with his rushing ability but defenses were not ready for the pass catching ability; Marable recorded 20 receptions for 161 yards. CJ Marable would be a huge part of their FIRST USFL Championship. After the season concluded, CJ Marable would be right back where he left off, ready for a second stint with the Stallions. 

In the 2023 season, CJ Marable completely improved from season one to season two. The former Coastal Carolina back showed his old college ways in the 2023 season. The RB recorded 118 rushing attempts for 524 yards and three touchdowns, the kid took a HUGE leap from year one to year two. Marable would see more receptions in 2023 with 28 receptions for 235 yards and two touchdowns. The Birmingham Stallions would go back to back championship and the 26 year old running back was a huge part of the championship run. 

Here we are! We are now in NFL training camp and CJ Marable finally got his chance. The New England Patriots have signed CJ Marable after a successful workout. 

Karvers final thoughts: 

One of my favorite College/USFL Players going to my favorite NFL team is an awesome feeling. The Patriots are truly getting a gem, I expect CJ Marable to make an instant impact to the Patriots offense. The kid has a real chance to make the 53 man roster with the Pats. This kid is special and is going to continue to be special.
