Player Summary:

RS SR and 1 yr full-time starter where he aligns at OC in the zone blocking scheme of KYLO. In his time at KYLO, he has played OC, OG, and OT. He transferred from VAPI prior to the 2021 season. He possesses quality height, solid weight, and subpar speed with a powerful build. He is a solid athlete showing a combination of good lateral quickness and agility, solid COD, and explosiveness with ordinary acceleration, adequate balance, and ordinary play speed. He is a good run blocker. On OZ runs, he fires out and displays good UOH as he delivers a well-timed punch to the frame of the NT with ordinary AA before using his good play strength to execute a quality scoop block creating a lane for the RB. He is solid in pass pro. He plays with a good, wide base with solid bend and uses his good UOH in his punch, placement, and timing combined with his good play strength as he anchors against the power rush from NT with an ordinary get-off. He displays solid reactive athleticism as he uses his solid COD to mirror the moves of NT with adequate AA. He does an average job of recovering if beaten initially in pass pro as he uses his good play strength to block the IDL or blitz ILB at the last second preventing a sack. If left uncovered, he does an average job of assisting his teammates while in pass pro. He displays very good physical toughness as he finishes the block to the ground against IDL with ordinary play strength for a pancake. He exhibits solid mental toughness as he elevates his play as a run blocker near the goal line. A lack of quality play speed prevents him from quickly getting to the LB when reaching the 2nd level enabling ILB with good play speed to avoid or disengage from his attempted block. Struggles to consistently keep his weight over his toes leading to him losing his balance.

Scheme Fit:

OC in OZ heavy run scheme.

Power Statement:

Powerful, tough, versatile player who plays well as a run blocker overall and is solid in pass pro. Struggles to consistently keep his weight over his toes and his lack of elite play speed limits his productivity when reaching the 2nd level.
