Player Summary:
6th yr RS SR and 4 yr full-time starter on the IDL where he aligns anywhere from 0-3t in the odd/bear/okie/eagle front of the 3-3-5 Nickel defense of MTUN. He possesses ordinary height, poor weight and solid speed with a powerful build. He is a solid athlete showing a combination of good lateral quickness and agility with solid COD, balance, explosiveness, acceleration and solid play speed. He is solid against the run. He shows solid burst off the ball and displays good UOH as he delivers a well-timed punch to the frame of the IOL with subpar length. He displays solid play strength as he disengages and locates the RB. He shows average form tackling ability combined with solid explosiveness as he makes the tackle on RB with adequate size and play speed in his gap on inside runs. He is solid against the pass. He shows solid getoff with good UOH as he executes a bullrush before disengaging from C/G with adequate physical toughness. He also displays good lateral quickness and agility as he executes stunts and twists towards the C gap before exhibiting average hip and ankle flexion as he bends at the apex and executes a rip move or bullrush before disengaging from OT who bend at the waist. He exhibits above-average closing speed and instincts in pursuit before finishing up with a sack. He plays with a quality motor combined with solid physical toughness as he plays until the whistle consistently and gives 100% every play. Subpar size prevents him from consistently maintaining gap integrity against doubleteam/combo blocks from C/G who possess good size, foot drive and grip strength. Ordinary pass rush move repertoire consists of mainly a bullrush with an occasional rip or swim move. Subpar counter ability prevents him from quickly disengaging if he is unable to win initially against OL with active hands and good physical toughness.
Scheme Fit:
3T due to his size, quickness and ability as a pass rusher.
Power Statement:
Experienced, versatile player who is solid overall against the run and pass. Subpar size causes him to struggle to maintain gap integrity consistently against double team/combo blocks from c/g with good size, play strength and foot drive.
