Son of former NFL football player arrested for killing his parents | Sentenced to LIFE

AJ Armstrong was sentenced to life in prison for killing both his Mother and Father back in 2016. Antonio Armstrong Sr. was a former NFL linebacker that was killed by his own child in Texas.
A Texas Grand Jury found the 23-year-old son guilty after 10-and-a-half hours of deliberation.
Armstrong was 16 when he shot and killed both his parents as they were sleeping. His mother Dawn was shot twice in the head. Both parents were shot with a pillow over their heads.
He called 911 and reported gunshots.
The 16-year-old was kicked out of high school for smoking marijuana and his parents had scolded him for using drugs. Armstrong said he had seen a man fleeing their home, but there were no recordings of that from the home security.
Armstrong Jr. had left a note in the kitchen as well saying “I have been watching you for a long time. Come get me.”
The crazy thing is the murder weapon was left in the kitchen. It was Antonio Sr.’s 22 caliber pistol that killed both parents.
Jurors say there was no emotion after he was sentenced.
Antonio Armstrong Sr. was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the 6th round of the 1995 NFL Draft. The former Texas A&M graduate also played for the 49ers, and Rams in the NFL before taking his talents to the CFL and playing with BC Lions and Winnipeg.
