What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I decided to start playing football because of my two older brothers. They began football and excelled at it and I saw how happy it made them and how proud it made by parents. I wanted to give myself that same happiness and make my parents even more proud.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Growing up we are taught that the best way to have fun is winning. Winning my first state championship in high school was my first favorite moment because I shared that moment with friends. Earning and committing to a Division 1 University was next favorite moment because I was able to share that with my family. The most recent favorite memory that was created was clinching the CAA Conference Championship and beating our rivals Maine in the same day.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My mother inspires me the most. She is a single mother of 3 boys who sacrificed everything to make sure her children had a better life. She put us in the position to have the best education, the most opportunities both athletically and socially, and never asked for anything in return besides our very best effort in everything we do. She taught me work ethic, dedication, and genuine love for myself and others.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

I’m looking forward to the opportunity to be a top team in our conference and in the country. We’re bringing back most of our players that contributed to our teams success last year on all phases of the football. Seeing this team with even more experience and chemistry than before is something amazing to be a part of.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

I would hang out with Charles Woodson. My favorite defensive back growing up. Watching him play is what made me want to be a defensive back and the biggest takeaway he gave me was how he studied the game. I would want to hang out with him to understand how he studied his opponent and watched film. That is a primary part of my game. The amount of time I put into learning my opponent.

What are your favorite things about playing football for New Hampshire?

This team and community is nothing less than family oriented. Many teams might say they’re a family but New Hampshire football prioritizes the academic success and personal growth of every player before athletic success. It is the foundation of this football team and the success we’ve had throughout history and now.

What should we know about Randall Harris the person?

I think one thing that everyone should know about me is exactly what my coaches over the years have told me. The personal, athletic, and academic growth I have had from the start of my college career up until this point. I have and continue to learn more about myself and have gained the competence to strengthen my weaknesses and build on my strengths. This comes to show that I am always listening and willing to learn because I know how much I can better myself.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

4-3. I have been blessed to have a lot of winning success in my football career. 2 state championships in high school and most recently a CAA championship. All of these championships had a 4-3 defensive scheme.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I look to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to guide me through challenges in life and on the field. Prayer provides me peace and hope to get me through challenges. I also understand that not every challenge has to be faced alone. I utilize the people and resources in my life as much as I can if they can help me through something. Being a collegiate cornerback has given me many challenges. I have been able to develop the mindset of the next play mentality. I handle any challenge on the football field with the understanding it’s about how I respond to the challenge.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A hard worker who will give 100% effort and commitment everyday. A team would get my all from start to finish. I am a player who doesn’t bring distractions and can leave my personal problem outsides of work. A team would get a player with a genuine passion for the game and will work with anyone to get better as a player and a team. I will sacrifice my personal interests for the team. I have studied the game and have become very smart within it. I can play multiple positions on defense and special teams.

What stands out about your film the most?

If you watch my film you will see it is technically sound. I rely on my technique primarily that have helped me to make plays. One other thing that stands out is that I am where I’m supposed to be and simply do my 1/11th. This simply means doing my job as the other 10 players on the field are doing, which brings us the most success and has given me personal success on the film.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Zach Garron. Zach Garron is a defensive end with 3 years of football seasons left. I have never met an athlete who has the size of an FBS outside linebacker, the strength of a defensive linemen, and the speed of a defensive back. Freak athlete is the simple way to describe Zach. He lifts more weight than a lot of our top linemen and runs out conditioning drills with the skill players. He is underrated simply because he did not receive a real opportunity until our two defensive ends had their All-American seasons.
