Player Summary:
Senior. He Aligns mostly as a 0-technique; will occasionally shift to DE pre-snap, but his best use comes right over center, where he looks at home. Good height and size for the position. Has a thick ass and developed hamstrings. Good run defender at the point-of-attack and an above-average pass rusher with the tools to be a legitimate prospect. As a run defender, he is good. Has a quick first step and consistent get-off. Comes off with a flat back and plays with good leverage. Very good ability to anchor – can be difficult to move from his spot and often requires multiple blockers to neutralize him. Aggressively takes on double-team blocks, and occupies space to free up other rushers. Plays with good knee bend and leverage. Has a high motor, good pursuit ability, and consistently takes good angles to ballcarriers. Will occasionally over-pursue ballcarriers and break contain but not a major issue. As a pass rusher, he is above-average. Has no other moves beyond a basic bull rush. Can be slow to reach the QB and registered just one sack last season, but is still very disruptive, does a great job of freeing up other rushers and getting vertical push to collapse the pocket, and allowing other rushers to hit the QB. Has some twitch to him especially for his size and stature. Good finisher. Lack of production is deceiving. Could be a real diamond in the rough.
Scheme Fit:
DT
Power Statement:
Khristian is a good run defender and an above-average pass rusher. His lack of statistical production is deceiving, especially with his sack totals. He really pops on film, as any strong small school prospect should.
