Pittman’s Pocket: 2024 High School Class still has talent

Here at Pittman’s Pocket were unraveling those potential Diamonds every week. HBCU football programs need to continue to look a the lists created by Brian Pittman of Pittman’s Pocket. Here are 4 new high school Diamonds discovered.
Jay Moore – McMichael High School (North Carolina)
- JERSEY #: 9
- POSITION(S): RB, SS
- HEIGHT: 6’0″
- WEIGHT: 215lbs
- CLASS OF: 2024
- TWITTER: @jaydenm2422
- Jay Moore will be a very interesting recruit come this 2023-2024 season. He clocked at a 4.67 and has athleticism to become a premier Running back at the next level. He could be a player that makes the switch to linebacker, and you still will get a hard-working prospect. I believe coaches at the HBCU level in the CIAA, MEAC, and SWAC will get the opportunity in a few months and should take it on Moore.
Jhayden Crawl- Dallas Christian High School (Texas)
- HEIGHT: 6’3″
- WEIGHT: 200lbs
- CLASS OF: 2024
- TWITTER: @jh4yden
- Jhayden is an undiscovered Diamond. The Kid can has a big 6’3 frame and has natural physical abilities. Jhayden can be very effective in the pass rush which helps him in some defensive packages like a 4-4 or 3-4 scheme. He can become an immediate contributor to an HBCU football program, and could be a possible position upgrade with his size and athletic abilities out of Dallas, Texas.
Chris Scott – Dallas Christian High School (Texas)
- JERSEY #: 1
- POSITION(S): RB
- HEIGHT: 6’1″
- WEIGHT: 210lbs
- CLASS OF: 2024
- TWITTER: @Chrissc5k
- Chris Scott is a teammate of Jhayden at Dallas Christian and both are leaders coming in the 2023-2024 season. Chris Scott is a pure linebacker, meaning he has grit and tenacious pursuit of the ball carrier. His versatility as a Running back makes him so much of a diamond, with a good season, should definitely be rewarded in recruiting this spring.
Ta’Erik Tate- Gilmer High School (Texas)
- JERSEY #: 7
- POSITION(S): WR, FS
- HEIGHT: 6’1″
- WEIGHT: 180lbs
- CLASS OF: 2024
- A true diamond was finally discovered. HBCU coaches, take your talents to Gilmer, Texas. Because they have a kid on the rise!
