Player Summary:
Senior tight end for San Jose State. Exhibits versatility in usage, lining up both off-line in slot and in-line as a traditional tight end. Below-average to average size at his position. Has split time in his first three seasons, seeing limited usage in his first two seasons. Increased snaps last season with his most productive year to date. Should see an expanded role in 2023 as the top man on the depth chart at his position. Has surprising speed for his size. Smooth route-runner who gets down the field with relative ease. Understands coverage and tends to find himself in openings. Uses body well to present his QB with a wide target. Shows soft hands and good catch technique. Missed 3 games in 2022 with undisclosed injury. Doesn’t exhibit much blocking ability despite his ideal size. Will need to add functional strength at the next level, particularly in his lower body. Despite showing nice speed and fluid movement in routes, has not shown much YAC ability. Shows some wasted movement off LOS that could pose problems at the next level. Best suited for usage in the slot as F-TE at the next level until blocking ability develops further. With more development and opportunity, he could pose as a dangerous pass catcher in an RPO or Pro-style offense.
Scheme Fit:
F-TE, RPO or Pro-Style
Power Statement:
Quality depth tight end who has traits to be a dynamic pass catcher, but has lacked opportunity to develop and truly showcase talents. Will need to get stronger and develop as a blocker in the run game at the next level to be considered scheme-versatile.
