Terry Wright has emerged as a top wide receiver in the USFL for Philly

Terry Wright Wide Receiver

Written by Karver Jordan

Terry Wright the Philadelphia Stars wide receiver is quite the player, this guy is known for his fantastic routes and his ability to great yards after catch. Wright is like a pinball in a pinball machine bouncing off of defenders. Let’s take a look at the college career of this talented WR!

About the player: Terry Wright, Wide receiver
Age: 26

Height and weight five foot ten inches (5’10”) 177 pounds

Team: Philadelphia Stars

College career:

The college journey would start at Coffeyville Community College, Wright would show out at Coffeyville. The kid would record 50 receptions for 805 yards and eight touchdowns! Absolutely outstanding numbers. Oh boy, he is special and he was a STAR on special teams. On 19 returns the WR would record 519 yards! After the great 2018 season the shifty wideout would then transfer to Purdue and play in 25 career games, he would record 57 receptions for 742 yards with five touchdowns. One thing that the stats don’t show is how clutch the kid is, if the team needs a huge third down play you can put money on it that Wright is getting the ball; that’s how good he really is. Terry has very good route running ability, a quick stutter step and you can kiss him goodbye. The time at Purdue was great, Wright really showed out in college; Now it’s time to look at his professional career.

Professional career:

A few NFL teams would give Wright the chance to prove himself after going Undrafted in 2019. The Seattle Seahawks would give Wright a chance however, it wouldn’t pan out. A few months would go by and the Pittsburgh Steelers would give him a chance however, it still wouldn’t work into his favor. He would spend a few months apart from the Miami Dolphins, it’s fair to say that he got a great amount of professional coaching. A few years would go by, Terry has changed from 2019 to 2023. Here we are, the Philadelphia Stars gave him the chance, and he ran with it. HE WAS PHENOMENAL IN 2023 for the USFL team.

Final Thoughts:

Personally, I think Terry Wright could be one of the best wide receivers in the WHOLE USFL. Give Wright a full offseason and let this man cook. He looked very smooth in the final regular season game vs the Michigan Panthers. The Philadelphia Stars have a “Hidden Gem” in number nine.
