What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
I have a brother who’s 5 years older than me and seeing him play and the great things he was doing at a young age, motivated me to play.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
I would honestly have to say winning a State Championship my senior year of high school and winning a National Championship this past year.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My mom and brother. Growing up, we went through some obstacles, but my mom or brother never let any situation that we were in dictate anything. My mom always made sure my brother and I were safe and my brother always protected me.
What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?
I’m looking forward to just be able to compete with my brothers for another season and lord willingly, winning another National Championship.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Tom Brady. I would just pick his brain about his mentality and mindset. How he accomplished being the greatest from the 6th round pick to 7 Super Bowls.
What are your favorite things about playing football for NC Central?
Just playing for great and genuine coaches and also playing with funny, outgoing, and same minded teammates. Everyone pretty much have the same mindset and drive, so it makes practices and games fun while playing alongside my teammates and coaches.
What should we know about Mookie Collier the person?
I’m a God fearing man who’s huge on faith. I’m humbled, genuine, ambitious, and a funny individual.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
Spread offensive because with that, it makes it difficult for the opposing defense to stack the box.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
To remember that things in life doesn’t happen to you, but for you. God never make mistakes and to always lean on him.
What would a team get in a player like you?
A guy who’s determined, self driven, team player, and someone who will take full advantage of any opportunity that’s given to him. Whether it’s offense, special teams, etc.
What stands out about your film the most?
That I’m an every down back that’s also versatile and a natural runner. I can catch, block in the pass game, and I’m always doing something in a game to help open something up for a teammate (carrying out a fake).
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
Quentin Chaplin. Didn’t have a great senior season, but the best guy and TE I’ve ever met. Can simply run any route and block as well. His stats don’t show much, but his film from bowl games and season(s) don’t lie.
