What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

What really made me want to be a football player is the love for the game that I had for it. Me and my dad would always watch Lawrence Taylor’s highlights on YouTube and I thought I could be like him one day.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My favorite moment was when we beat Miami last year. We were the underdogs for that game

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

If I had to choose one then it would be my pops. From seeing him being able to still work in a factory to do the same thing for 10 hours a day and still provide for us is one of the most inspiring things for me.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

I’m looking forward for our team to be better than ever and winning our conference.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

It would be Aaron Donald. I’ve been watching him since I was in 10th grade. He’s my favorite player

What are your favorite things about playing football for Middle Tennessee?

Just being able to come in with a mature group of guys this year. Being able to see that this program is getting better and better each and every year. That’s why I look forward to each day here.

What should we know about Marley Cook the person?

Marley Cook is a humble and very straight forward guy. A guy that doesn’t say much but put his head down and works.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

My favorite defensive scheme is odd. I line up at the end. We’ve gotten good sacks off of that formation this past year.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I keep God first in everything I do whether it’s good or bad. I know that everyone is dealing with something in their lives. I just know that I could be in a worse situation that I could be in if I’m going through something.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A consistent player that likes to learn and perfect their technique. I would say hard worker but everyone should work hard with anything that you are doing. It’s all about who’s perfect in everything that they do.

What stands out about your film the most?

I think lining up at end sometimes stands out the most to me because I say I have pretty good bend and pocket penetration. Being a more versatile player on the defensive line that could play inside or outside.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Offense: Yusuf Ali, as much as people might think that special teams matter. Yusuf will always be that guy that’s flying full speed every single rep at everything that he does on offense and special teams.
Defense: Teldric Ross, I feel like he doesn’t get the recognition that he does because of much he’s not talked about. People don’t talk about him as much but he does impact our games a lot.
