What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
Ever since I was a little boy I watched the NFL a lot and when I started playing at 4 or 5 years old I realized I loved the game of football.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
When I was playing peewee we were tied and I took the ball and went all the way into the end zone and we won the championship.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My dad, because he is a very hard worker.
What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?
I’m trying to get 1,000 receiving yards and around 15 touchdowns.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Tavon Austin, because he knows a lot about the game of football and runs crisp routes and I would like to hang out with him on a football field.
What are your favorite things about playing football for Lane College?
I like playing for an HBCU because HBCU guys don’t really get the spotlight and so I want to put a spotlight on Lane College.
What should we know about Jacquez Jones the person?
Outside of football, I like to fish so when I’m not out on the football field I’m fishing on my boat.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
I like double moves because it really gives me a chance to fake out my defender from the first route and hit them with the second route.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
On the football field if I have a situation I can’t get through I talk to a coach or go and work out and handle it myself and off the field I go talk to my parents or girlfriend to get advice on the situation.
What would a team get in a player like you?
They would definitely get a hard worker, smart, knows how to run routes and play whatever position they want me to and come in ready to work.
What stands out about your film the most?
Definitely running past the defender and getting into the end zone.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
Tarik McKinzie, one of our QBs from last season I feel like he didn’t get the recognition he deserved last season.
