What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
I feel like it’s kinda just something in you when you first pick up a football as a little kid also just being around the game as a little kid with my dad Willie Ford playing at Syracuse and then going on to sign a NFL contract after it’s something that me and my family have always talked about.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
Definitely winning championships, the 3 state titles back to back to back in high school and then college winning 2 conference championships with teammates and coaches who quickly became my family nothing like all the hard work paying off at the end of the season. Just the bonds built through the game of football.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My grandmother Anne Miranda, she is one of the strongest people I’ve ever met, who has been through so much in life but everyday she wakes up with a smile on her face, she has always taught me a different way to look at things and life. Also that hard work always pays off along with the power of manifestation.
What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?
I am looking forward to competing at a high level and proving that we are one of the best programs in New England.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Reggie Bush, he has always been one my favorite players and running backs. He is one of the most electrifying players to play the game.
What are your favorite things about playing football for Framingham State?
The family atmosphere we have as a team and coaching staff and all the different personalities there’s never a dull moment with our team.
What should we know about Devaun Ford the person?
I’m just a laid back mellow guy who’s big on faith, family, and football.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
West coast offense because it lets us motion to different formations move fast paced and get the play makers the ball in space
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
I learned at young age that sitting and waiting for something to change does nothing for your life doesn’t stop for nobody so you have to get up everyday and want to be great in every aspect that doesn’t mean everything will go your way it never will, but there’s always a way to get the job done that’s just how you have to attack life.
What would a team get in a player like you?
A team would be getting a versatile player that can play multiple positions on the field, catch the ball out the back field and be versatile who can help create matchups all over the field.
What stands out about your film the most?
My versatility and being able to move around the field and not only run with the football but catch it to create better matchups across the field.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
Elijah Nichols. He plays WR for us and is a game changer in all aspects of the game weather it’s setting up a big block or a crazy clutch catch or beating a DB deep and is football IQ is on another level.
