What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

My dad was a basketball player that played division one basketball at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff(HBCU) so I was kind of born into sports but for some reason, I was just strangely obsessed with football from a really young age. I always knew I wanted to be a football player. I guess I was just born with the passion.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My favorite moment came in high school on my last game. During my high school career, I was very underrated and had to play JV all the way until my senior year. The year I finally got a chance I had a breakout year and was one of the best receivers in the Memphis area but it was pretty too late to get notice at that point. In my last game I had 3 touchdowns but we ultimately lost and I had no idea if I would get a chance at the next level. But my head coach told me after the game that I was the best player he ever coached and that meant a lot we had some really good players come through. And that gave me the confidence to keep going.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My father because of the things he taught me and the way he did everything with a passion. He was killed when I was 11 and I never have forgotten anything he taught me. I want to succeed in whatever I’m passionate about to make him proud.

What are your favorite things about playing football for Valparaiso?

I love the family culture at Valpo all my teammates here are like brothers. I also love that my head coach is very hard on us and wants to win more than anything.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Probably Stefon Diggs just because he’s a real technician and could give me some valuable tools for my game.

What is the most elite thing that you do and why?

After my separation, I feel like nobody can stay with me on any deep route and also after I catch the ball I have a really good sense of the field and where everyone is. I feel like I have a juke or spin move for any situation I’m in.

What should we know about Solomon Davis the person?

A very smart football player with great routes that can make plays on any defense. One of the fastest and most explosive players in college right now and gets better every year.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

I like Spread but pro-style is probably my favorite because they can’t always just put a safety over the top of me if we got a good running game too.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I treat everything as if it’s either making me stronger or it’s teaching me a lesson. A loss is never a failure to me and sometimes it can take you to a whole new level.

What would a team get in a player like you?

An unguardable receiver 1 on 1 that has the ability to change the whole game and defenses with his speed.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love that it gives back to the people that respect the game. If you work hard enough and watch the film you can be the player you want to be.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Ollie Reese, used to play receiver at Valpo. A very reliable player that would catch almost anything you throw at him.
