Great NFL Draft Picks This Season

Unsurprisingly, quarterbacks dominated the build-up to the 2023 NFL Draft, as it is a very strong class. The talent gets better when considering edge rusher, tight end, and corner end. Consequently, fans, including those who bet on NFL events on platforms like Betway, should expect many players in these positions to be selected. Twenty-one conferences participated in the selections, including seven picks from independent college football programs.

The SEC led with 62 draft selections, three short of the record 65 selections of 2022. On the other hand, Georgia and Alabama led all the schools selecting 10 players each. Here are the results of the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft:

Bryce Young

QB, Alabama

Carolina Panthers

Young’s physique brings some unquestionable durability concerns. For instance, some argue that if he were a few inches taller or 20 pounds heavier, no one would doubt his inclusion among the top players in his class. His workouts were not as impressive as other top quarterbacks on this list. However, what matters most is the tape, and Young’s tape has been consistently brilliant in this class, and it is what projects him as a future NFL star.

C.J. Stroud

QB, Ohio State

Houston Texans

At some point in 2022, some NFL pundits considered Stroud, the most accurate quarterback in the country. Stroud demonstrated improved mobility and moxie against Georgia, even if in a losing cause. His stock has kept rising, and his stats at Ohio State are stuff you’d see on video games. He has continued his top performances and starred during the NFL Scouting Combine and pro day, where he had two of the best throwing sessions.

Will Anderson Jr.

Edge, Alabama

Houston Texans

While you can adjust numbers to argue multiple points, Anderson’s production is so remarkable it speaks for itself! He has played 41 career games and managed 58.5 tackles for loss, including 34.5 sacks. Anderson is popular for beating his opponents with upfield speed, agility, and deadly hands. Additionally, his instincts make his frightening twists.

Anthony Richardson

QB, Florida

Indianapolis Colts

Richardson is a highly talented quarterback but is still very raw. Nonetheless, he remains one of the most fascinating evaluations of the 2023 draft class. The talented youngster needs to be awarded patience and excellent coaching to ensure he keeps developing. He is a player that NFL betting fans on Betway will be following closely as he takes the next steps in his career.

Devon Witherspoon

CB, Illinois

Seattle Seahawks

This year’s class has bigger, flashier, and faster cornerbacks. However, Witherspoon boasts unique features such as an ability to deflect passes, sticky coverage, and steady run support, making him stand out from the rest. Many NFL commentators have concluded he is the all-around prospect for that position.

Jalen Carter

DT, Georgia

Philadelphia Eagles

Carter’s dominant physicality is what stands out from the rest. He can tilt the field in his team’s favor thanks to his ability to cause mayhem at the line of scrimmage. Carter’s talent is indisputable, but his off-field decision-making has been questioned as some pundits wonder whether he will reach his potential. While his upside is worth the risk, some experts argue he’d be too much of a gamble.

Peter Skoronski

OG, Northwestern

Tennessee Titans

Skoronski is looking to follow Rashawn Slater’s footsteps as a first-round pick. Although his arm length is not ideal, Skoronski is agile, quick, and smart and would be an excellent pick for most teams. Furthermore, he could be moved inside to guard or even to center in the NFL.
